OUR OPERATION
American Family Care owns and operates 22 medical centers throughout Alabama and will expand into Tennessee in September 2010. The company was founded in 1982 by Dr. Bruce Irwin who serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director. Because we are a physician-driven organization, our physicians can rely upon receiving the support they need to succeed. We are privately held and enjoy the independence of not being affiliated with any hospital, hospital system or HMO.
THE PRACTICE
Our facilities are 5,000 sq. ft., free-standing medical centers with lab, x-ray and dispensing services available on site. We see walk-in patients as well as patients on an appointment basis. Most centers have two physicians who work together to see all the patients and provide coverage for all hours of operation. Most facilities are open 8 am to 6 pm, seven days per week. The facilities have private exam rooms, trauma bays and procedure areas. We see primary care, urgent care and occupational medicine patients.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
We seek board-certified or board eligible physicians (FM, IM, IM/Peds, EM and OCC MED) who are motivated by the desire to provide quality medical care and who want to work together as a team to contribute to the overall success of our business.
COMPENSATION
As a full or part time physician you will enjoy the following:
